In this letter, Cormier addresses a teacher, Mrs. Beggs, who has reached out to him to help her think through the implications of teaching (or not) The Chocolate War. What comes through is Cormier’s unflagging respect for students and teachers, even in answering what may seem like questions with obvious answers.
